Updated August 2026

1. Definitions

“Company” refers to KS Fire Protect. “Client” refers to the person or organisation accepting the quotation. “Works” refers to fire door surveys, inspections, reporting and any associated services included in the agreed quotation.

2. Quotations

All quotations are valid for 30 days from the date issued. Quotations are based on the information available at the time and may be adjusted if site conditions or the agreed scope differ. Where access or information is limited, costs may be revised following clarification or a site visit.

3. Scope of works

Surveys are non-intrusive unless otherwise agreed in writing. Reports are based on visible and accessible elements at the time of inspection and are prepared with reference to relevant industry guidance and good practice.

4. Access

The Client is responsible for ensuring safe and reasonable access to all required areas and doors.

  • A charge of £12 per missed door may apply where access cannot be gained.
  • Return visits will be charged at the original quoted rate per door or at an agreed day rate.

5. Programme and delays

Dates are agreed in good faith but may change due to site conditions, access restrictions or unforeseen circumstances. The Company will not be responsible for delays outside its reasonable control.

6. Reporting

Survey reports will normally be provided in PDF format and, where applicable, supporting information may also be provided in Excel format. Reports are intended to set out observations, identified defects and recommended actions clearly.

7. Remedial works

KS Fire Protect provides independent inspection services and does not undertake remedial works directly. Where requested, the Company may introduce the Client to an independent third-party contractor. Any remedial quotation, contract, works and certification will be provided by that contractor under its own terms.

8. Pricing and payment

Unless otherwise agreed, surveys are charged per door or at an agreed day rate. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. The Company reserves the right to claim interest and recovery costs on overdue commercial invoices where permitted by law.

9. Variations

Any services requested outside the agreed scope will be treated as a variation and may be charged separately. No additional work will be undertaken without agreement where prior approval is reasonably possible.

10. Liability

Reports reflect the visible and accessible condition of the doors at the time of inspection. The Company cannot accept responsibility for subsequent alteration, damage or deterioration. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited.

11. Health and safety

Work will be carried out in accordance with applicable health and safety requirements. The Client must provide a safe working environment and advise the Company of relevant site hazards or procedures.

12. Cancellation

Cancellation within 48 hours of the agreed start date may incur a reasonable charge to cover committed time, travel or other costs.

13. Acceptance

Acceptance of a quotation by email, purchase order or written confirmation constitutes acceptance of these terms unless alternative terms have been agreed in writing.
